My father Terrence Michael Randell was the son of the late Catherine Owens and Michael Randell. His journey began in Queens NY and he was soon joined by his brother Donald and surrounded by many dear cousins.
He attended St Bartholomew’s school where he received all A’s with the exception of conduct, no surprises !! . He then attended Brooklyn Tech HS where he excelled academically , ran cross country track and found his interest in building. Upon graduation he attended CCNY, however left being sworn in to the NYPD.
He excelled on the police force , from the 103 in Jamaica to the 24 in Harlem. He was promoted to Sergeant and then leuitenant and served in Brooklyn North, Bureau of Narcotics and IAD. As a captain he went to Highway Patrol where he was promoted to Deputy and then full inspector. He found his home and loved this position and many challenges, his fellow officers, the motorcycles and of course the horses. After being transferred to the 112 and considered for chief , he retired.
During his career he served in the National Guard , graduated from Queens college and New York law school with honors and receiving the Constitutional Law honor. He enjoyed sailing , cooking, and building projects and later took security and law positions.
He was a perfectionist in his many endeavors, at times making it difficult for others to meet his expectations, however in later years he was able to enjoy the children in his life, especially his beloved Madeline
Ryan, I am deeply sorry for your loss. This was a lovely retrospective of your dads achievements. He was quite accomplished in the entirety of his professional life which you described perfectly. God bless you and your entire family during this very difficult time.
