Private Cremation

Patricia A. Nelson (Mimi)

(February 25, 1942 – June 30, 2026)

Patricia Lynch, 84, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Patricia was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

Patricia was born and raised in East Rockaway by her parents, Claire Lynch and Edward Lynch in 1942.

She grew up with her older brother, John and younger brother, Michael.

She attended East Rockaway High School where she graduated in 1959. Most notably at ERHS, Pat was crowned Prom Queen of Senior Prom and voted as the girl with the “Cutest Smile.”

After graduation, she attended Woods Secretarial School. During this time she met Richard Nelson who she later married.

They had five children together in East Rockaway. She is survived by Richard (Riley), Debra (Al), Michael (Jen), Cheri (Don), and Chrissy (Sean) and daughter-in-law Karen Dabrowski.

As the years passed, Pat became a proud “Mimi” to twenty grandchildren: James Nelson, Mya Nelson, Jack Nelson, Monroe Nelson, Madden Nelson, AJ Ford, Charlie Ford, Cate Ford, Michael Nelson, Sean Nelson, Cara Nelson, Tyler Poland, Emma Poland, Timmy Poland, Ryan Lynch, Kevin Lynch, Kieran Lynch, Erin Lynch, Colleen Lynch, and Caitlin, Lynch.

Being a Mimi was one of, if not her most rewarding accomplishment and greatest joy.

Her role as Mimi included many trips to the dollar store, ice cream for breakfast, swimming in the pool, walks to Carvel, and extremely competitive games of boggle.

She had the unique ability to create special and loving memories with everyone around her.

If you ask any of her children, grandchildren, and loved ones what their favorite moment with Mimi was, they will all have different answers, but the thing that always stays the same is the undeniable love and light that she brought into their lives.

Mimi had a super power and that was to bring people together. Today and always we will celebrate a life well lived.
