Lawrence A. Dower (aka Larry)
Lawrence A. Dower (aka Larry), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born to Terry and Joe Dower, Larry grew up in Floral Park, New York, where he developed the strong values, work ethic, and sense of humor that would define his life.
Larry went on to serve his community with pride and distinction as a longtime member of the New York City Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant after a dedicated and honorable career. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to protecting others left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
A longtime resident of Lynbrook, New York, Larry built a life centered around family. He was the beloved husband of Clare Flood Dower, who predeceased him, and a loving father to Paul, Chris, Margaret (Rob), and Robert. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Juliet, who brought him immense joy.
Larry was a cherished brother, brother-in-law, and uncle to many, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He had a lifelong passion for cars and aerospace, always fascinated by how things worked and eager to share that enthusiasm with others.
Above all, Larry will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the National MS Society.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Larry. We were friends since grade school at Our Lady of Victory in Floral Park, and I will always cherish those early memories and the lifelong friendship that followed.
Larry was a truly great friend—compassionate, generous, and always thinking of others. He spoke so often about his family, and it was clear how proud he was of each of his children and his granddaughter. His love for all of you was at the center of who he was.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this difficult time. Larry meant so much to me, and I will miss him very much. His kindness, warmth, and friendship will never be forgotten.
So sorry for the loss of Larry who was truly a "nice guy". He will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He can rest easy now with his beloved Clare.
