Joseph Antonio Rosado Jr. (“Joe”), born May 23, 1956, of East Rockaway, NY peacefully passed away March 9, 2026, on a bright and cloudless day in the wake of a record-breaking blizzard. He was blessed to have with him his sister Eunice and niece Ari. He is survived by his wife Maria (Perez); two children, Samantha (Jim Gallagher) and Jonathan; two grandchildren, Colin and Lila; and four siblings, Norma, Eunice, Samuel and David.

Joe grew up in New York City with his parents Joseph and Mary (Torres) and his brothers and sisters, eventually settling in Arverne, New York. From an early age, he expressed a profound interest in mechanics and engineering. Joe gained a local reputation as a daredevil, racing cars and motorcycles on the streets near where he lived. While this endeared him to many of his peers and secured the attention of his wife-to-be, it also meant that if you heard an explosion or loud crash you could almost be certain that he was at the center of it—and that with some time and effort, he would get up and walk away.

Joe’s ingenuity and natural aptitude for building, repairing things and skillfully solving problems led him to careers in both the automotive transmission and construction industries. Beginning in the 90s, Joe helped found and build two successful businesses specializing in architectural metal and glass. Much of his business consisted of repeat clients who returned to him over and over again for his two greatest assets—his mind and his warmth. Joe’s successes were hard-earned and never in the pursuit of glory or selfishness: everything he worked for and accomplished went directly towards his family who could rely on him without question, and he was never deterred by fear of failure.

Joe carried this steadfast dedication with him into all aspects of life, whether it be in resolutely supporting those around him when they most needed it, spending hours googling the best fishing reels, refusing to give up on a repair of a complex household appliance, or simply exploring new genres of music and movies in an endless pursuit of beauty and meaning. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
