My Mom, Lorraine Formont passed away on August 27th 2026.
She was born in 1941 in Glen Cove New York and grew up in a family of eight siblings. She married my dad and had me, an only child in 1967. We had a great middle class life growing up in East Rockaway, NY and my parents loved the town and were very active in the community. My dad was trustee and Mayor in the 90’s into the 2000’s and she was my dad’s biggest supporter.
She loved Elvis Presley and the NY Yankees especially Mickey Mantle. She put a lot of time and effort into the betterment of the Village of East Rockaway, the town she loved. She is survived by myself and her granddaughters Hailey and Kaycee, nephews Andrew Pagliaro and Joseph Pagliaro and his wife Sharon, and niece Donna Pagliaro. On my dad’s side, Ethel Gilloon, Kenny and Danny Gilloon.

I work closely with Miss Lorry Formont over 20 years at the Board of Elections. She shared her knowledge other job to be done in absentee ballot. She trusted me working with her each day. She also shared her best egg salad recipe with me. She became a close friend. My heart is broken. I will miss her pleasantness. Thank my Friend your old friend Ms Kelley

I worked with Lori many years at the Nassau County Board of Elections.
Lori was a very special person.
Very smart.
Very caring of everybody & everything.
I have been truly blessed to call her friend.
Lori loved your father.
She was his biggest supporter & cheerleader.
Charlie was a good man.
He shared many stories of his fire calls.
I tell one of them from time to time.
Lori's heart burst with love & pride for all her family.
She spoke often of her sister, & her niece.
I remember you stopping in at the BOE....
Lori couldn't be happier or prouder of you!!!
May Lori now rest in eternal peace in the comfort of Our Lord along with your Dad, & all her family.
May you feel peace & comfort from all who care for you.
Your parents were wonderful neighbors and made East Rockaway a better community. Your mom will be missed.
