Teramo, John L. passed away on April 17, 2025, after a brief illness. He was long time resident of Cedarhurst, N.Y.
Upon graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1957, he served as Second Lt. in the Army Paratroopers and was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA. His career then moved to a NYC Corporation where he was assigned as Resident Engineer for the building of Shea Stadium.
His career then established the beginning of the construction and professional engineering business of Lanzilotta & Teramo with his partner, Ronald Lanzilotta, for about 30 years.
John was a well-respected Professional Engineer and held several positions in the Village of Cedarhurst, including Village Trustee. He was President of the Five Towns Kiwanis Club, Lay Parish Trustee at St. Joachim’s Church in Cedarhurst, first Chairman of the Parish Diamond Ball, after which he was one of the Honorees with his wife Joyce. Upon retiring to St. Simons Island, Georgia, it did not take long for the Sea Palms Community to recognize his leadership talents. He was President of the Linkside Homeowners, President of the Sea Palms Property Owners, President of the Men’s Golf Club, just to name a few.
John is survived by his wife Joyce, of 63 years, son Joseph and his wife Michelle, daughter Maryann and husband Chris, son Jason and wife Samantha. Grandchildren, Brittany and husband Louis Rappaport, Benjamin and wife Heather Strauss, Casey Strauss and fiancé Steve Frank, Mackenzie Teramo, Sydney Teramo, Christopher Marino and wife Marjorie.
Great Grandchildren, Lucas and Jonah Strauss, Jackson and Mia Rappaport, Chloe and Luca Marino and dozens of nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn Teramo and his sister, Marie Burachio and husband David.
