John is the loving father to Valerie Thorgersen and Robert Meirline. Devoted grandfather of Michael, Christian and Julianna Thorgersen. Also survived by son in law Michael Thorgersen and daughter in law Katherine Meirline and sisters

John retired from JP Morgan in 1989 after 30 years of dedicated service. He later drove a school bus for children at Once Upon a Time daycare in Richmond Hill. John devoted his life to taking care of others. He raised his 2 children on his own, spent 20 years taking care of his parents and later helping with his grandchildren, who adored him.
He leaves his family behind, heartbroken as he lost his battle with dementia.
