Gregory Alvarez was born on October 5, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York.  After nearly five years of battling colon cancer, Greg passed away on December 31, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.  He was a true warrior to the very end, facing his journey with strength and perseverance.  Greg was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, brother-in-law, and friend. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his kindness, warmth, and genuine love for others.

A talented 3D Animator and true artist, Greg had a remarkable creative gift. His dedication and talent earned him an Emmy Award for his work. An avid sports fan who always rooted for the underdog, Greg was a lifelong fan of the NY Mets, Jets, and Knicks.

His love for the Mets, combined with his exceptional animation skills, led him to his dream job as Senior Graphics and Animation Designer for the New York Mets. This opportunity opened doors to further professional achievements, including his work as a Motion Graphics Designer at Fox News Media.

Greg lives on through his work, which many may recognize from attending a game at Citi Field, watching the MLB Network, or even catching a commercial such as the one for Sleepytime Tea.

Greg leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
