Sergeant PAPD, Proud US Air Force Veteran. former Captain and member of the Inwood Fire Department.

Sergeant Carrigan succumbed from 9/11 related illnesses from the 18 months of search, rescue and recovery operations he performed at the World Trade Center, NYC. He responded heroically on September 11, 2001, along with other members of the PAPD, FDNY, and NYPD to the World Trade Center, where he survived both collapses of the Towers and rescued hudreds of civilians and other members of service. He was reassigned to the WTC site on 9/11/01 and throughout the recovery operation. Sergeant Carrigan was assigned to the JFK Airport Emergency Services Unit and later to the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Academy at JFK.
