Chuck was born in 1932 at home in Lynbrook, New York, to Clinton and Gertrude(O’Brien). The youngest of six children, he grew up with a tight-knit extended family. Chuck attended St. Raymond School, East Rockaway High School, and Hofstra University, where he earned a degree in history and later an MBA. Chuck was married to Sally (Fee) for 38 years and together they raised three children, first in East Northport and then Smithtown. He spent most of his career at Airborne Instruments Laboratories(AIL) where he retired as the Director of Product Assurance. He was particularly proud to have worked on a project supporting the Space Shuttle’s landing system.

After retirement to Florida, he compiled, edited, and self-published two history books, documenting his father’s, older brother’s and cousin’s experiences serving their country during wartime. He later relocated to Vancouver, WA, to be closer to his son Mark, and in his final years they enjoyed many hours together.

Chuck was preceded in death by his brothers Clinton and Joseph, and sisters Mary Larkin, Kathryn Davis, and Gertrude Pownall. He is the beloved father of Kathleen(Wayne), Laurie(Chuck) and Mark(Kathy) and the cherished grandfather to Marin, Bridget, Casey, Ryan, Abigail, and Brady.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Chuck his family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
