Frank was born on September 3, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Isidore and Mary Navetta. He attended NYC public schools and Grover Cleveland HS. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Panama. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Antonina (“Nina”) LaSala. Soon thereafter he joined the NYC Fire Department rising to the rank of lieutenant and serving the people of New York City in multiple fire houses in Brooklyn, Manhattan and, ultimately, his favorite, Ladder 173 in Howard Beach, Queens from which he retired in 1988.

His parents and his younger brother, Joseph, preceded him in death. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Nina, sons, Frank and Charles, daughter-in-law, Mary, 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Kevin and Gabrielle, his granddaughter-in-law, Alyssa, and his great-grandson, Nathan.
